Merry Christmas
From The HeartSeasons
Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. A baby born in humility. Without the fanfare of a royal birth. But that’s exactly what he was—royalty…King of Kings and Lord of Lords. But he wasn’t born to live the life that we associate with a king. He was here on a mission. To provide the only means of redemption for fallen, sinful man. For you and for me.
The plan of God the Father to redeem mankind was nearing an end. Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, would come to earth as a baby. Deity wrapped in human flesh. He would live a perfect and sinless life and die a sacrificial death to pay man’s sin debt—God’s perfect lamb. For you and for me.
The plan of redemption was fulfilled on Calvary some thirty-three years later as Jesus spoke his final words on the cross—It Is Finished. But the story doesn’t end there. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead victorious over sin and death and offers all who will come to him eternal life through his sacrifice. For you and for me.
That baby was born to die—for you and for me. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
Merry Christmas
