Nope. Trail mix. Yep. Your body needs fuel, right? And you might as well enjoy that fuel. Also, you can reap the benefits of hiking off any excess calories you may or may not have consumed in your trail mix. “But, I don’t like trail mix,” you say. Well, who’s fault is that?

Have you ever bought a bag of trail mix only to be disappointed when you get halfway through the bag and it seems like the only thing left is peanuts and raisins? Well, be disappointed no more. Over the next few months, each member of our family is going to come up with a trail mix recipe using some of our favorite ingredients. We hope to inspire you to create your own trail mix that you love rather than settling for what some bean counter in a stuffy office in New York City comes up with. Unless, of course, you’re a bean counter in a stuffy office in New York City, in which case, you would have already created a trail mix that you love.

Trail Mix Ingredients

When I start thinking of my favorite ingredients, I keep coming back to one central ingredient. Peanut butter. But, how do I put it in a readily consumable and handy dandy trail mix? It was this passion for peanut butter that served as my inspiration. And thus Mike’s Peanut Butter Perfection was born. A combination of salty and sweet that will knock your socks off. And you don’t even have to drink milk with it to get it unstuck from your throat! Is it the perfect ratio of protein, carbohydrates, and fat? Not necessarily. Will it give you energy and make something you already enjoy even more enjoyable? Yes! And the best part is, you will enjoy every last bite – no remaining peanuts and raisins to suffer through or throw away.

In fact, it’s so good, you may have to chase off a hungry chipmunk or two.
